Description:A rare early Staffordshire pearlware group \'Widow and Orphans\' dating to around 1820. Unlike later Staffordshire \'flatbacks\' these early figures were decorated \'in the round\', some of them no doubt inspired by the even earlier Prattware type figures
Measurements:27 cms (10.5 inches) in height
Condition:excellent condition commensurate with age. One small loss to the orphan\'s \'hat\'; tiny nick to edge of widow’s cape restock: minor nibbles to the flowers on the base; occasional firing fault. I can\'t find any other evidence of repairs, breaks, cracks or hairlines. Very unusual to find a figure like this in such good order
