Rare Early c1745 Meissen Ornithological Lobed Plate:

c1745 Meissen ornithological plate featuring Old Ozier relief rim with a hand painted bird and insect study. Pressnummer 61, gilders mark \'A\' and the blue crossed swords mark to the reverse. In good original condition with no hairlines or chips (except a few very small glaze chips to the side of the foot rim). The edge gilding is somewhat rubbed and the paintwork shows a little wear (please see photographs). Plate has a nice true ring when gently struck. It measures a little more than 24cm in diameter.
