Rare and unusual, weight driven wall clock in outstanding condition and including weights and pendulum, it is untouched and dusty, the two side doors are missing but obviously easily replaced, it is similar to the postmans alarm clock which was made in Germany around the 1890s, I have never seen one like this before though, it has a third hand which I assume is set to ring the bell either on the hour or as an alarm ? It has four weights, two of the conventional type and two smaller ones, the face and the back are both signed, LFS for the makers name, Lorenz Furtwangler started business in Germany in 1836 and changed hands in 1900 , they eventually ceased trading in 1929. There is a label on the back for , S E Nicholls , 32 Islington Green , London. Whether that was the retailer or if it had been repaired I do not know, it is untested as the chains with the small weights on are really long, one of the other chains is close to the clock case so it is difficult to attach the weight. Apart from needing a clean the condition is exceptional, if you are not delighted on receipt, I will gladly issue a full refund on return. It measures, 12 inches wide and 6 inches deep,relisted due to non payment . It is available for collection from Doncaster or I will post worldwide, any questions please ask.
