Rare Hand Colored Davenport Porcelain 2428 Pattern Cake Plate Circa 1850 - 1870Very nice porcelain cake plate with relief molded scrollwork handles highlighted in gold gilding. Decorated in the rare 2428 pattern with hand colored groupings of an umbrella with flowers and a vase, a fan with flowers, a scroll with a dagger and a book, a dagger with a box and a vase, a box and a bowl of fruit, and urn with butterfly and flowers. Has an underglaze blue mark with Davednport in a scroll over an anchor. This mark was used between 1850 and 1870. Also marked with the pattern number 2428 in red. Has usage wear to the center consistent with age and some wear to the gilding on the handles and along the edge, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures 10 1/4\" wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display-ability of the piece. Please see my other listings for more Davenport ceramics.
