Hi And Welcome to my sale~~Today I have here an Extremely Rare Irish Chain Variation Star Quilt with Solids & Feed Sack Prints Of the Day With Rare For The Day Matching Shams and it is Densely Hand Quilted with Quilting Designs in the White Spacers and The Outside Borders~I Tried Showing you This is in The Pictures ~Please Look Closely It is Remarkable Workmanship it Takes a Real Talented Master Quilter to be Able to This ~And She Used Diamond Shapes Instead of Squares for The Irish Chain and She did Stunning Feed Sack Stars in the Spacers ~ She Used All The Same Yellow Flowered Feed Sack Prints For the Quilt Binding and The Ruffles on the Shams ~So Rare for the Era to have Matching Shams ~And of Course the Quilt would have Been Laundered Far More then the Shams Hence The Fading of the Feed Sack Fabric on the Quilt and Not the Shams ~This Quilt Would date From The Approx 1930s\'~This Quilt is all Hand Quilted at approx ~ 10 Tiny Stitches per inch ~The Feed Sack applied Binding is Hand Stitched closed on the Back Side~The backing is an all White Cotton The Same White Cotton That was Used for the Front ~This Quilt & Shams has had a Nice Gentle Quilt Bath and They were laid out to dry in our Farm Fresh Country Air ~so This Set Is Fresh and Clean~ This Quilt is a Heirloom Quality Quilt and it is in Excellent Vintage Condition it has No holes, No Excessive wear to the Fabrics and it has Feed Sack Print That Is Faded On the Quilt But Not on the Sham Ruffles And Also Fading of The Feed Sack Binding and some small Amount of some Fraying on the Binding In a few Areas that would have probably been used at the Top Of the Bed ~I Did try to Picture ~The Fraying Is Not too Much and Not Too bad ~ But for it\'s Old Vintage Age This Quilt is still I think a Stunning Gorgeous Rare Quilt From the Era In Excellent Used Condition~This Quilt has a Thinner Batting But Not too Thin ~ Because I Think it would be because The Maker wanted to show off Her Hand Quilting Talents and because it makes the Quilting in the Spacers look like Stipple Quilting ~This Is a Heirloom Quality Quilt ~ Please view My other sales for many other Rare Beautiful Quilts from my 42 Year Quilt Collection ~
