Rare Signed Saul Steinlauf Expressionist Portrait of a Blue Boy with Doll Original Gouache Painting on Paper.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on July 14, 1904. Steinlauf was active in southern California during the 1930s. For many years he lived in Mexico and produced paintings of social realism á la Rivera. He was a followers of Diego rivera(Frida Kahlo husband) and produce paintings of social realism.
After returning to California in 1941, he settled in San Diego and lived there until his demise on April 29, 1989. Exh: Artists of LA, LACMA, 1948; Calif. WC Society, 1949-50.
