Seldom do these very early Rivercane Double Weave baskets, either Chitimacha or Cherokee examples, show up in the marketplace, especially in this old patterning of diamonds which run up under the rim and inside the basket, especially in this size and condition.
The colors are exceptional and the vegetal bloodroot and walnut dyes along with the natural cane have only gotten better over time.
