The Carlo Moretti company was founded by Carlo and his brother Giovanni on the island of Murano in 1958. It was a leading designer and manufacturer of contemporary glassware and has pieces displayed in art galleries and museums around the world This piece is made in the Sommerso style, developed by Murano artisans in the late 1930\'s. Sommerso glasses are made of layers of glass formed by dipping one color glass into another, and then blowing into the desired shape.
