Beautiful Sterling silver watch cuff with watch expertlycrafted by Navajo silversmith Tommy Singer.

The cuff has an intricate Navajo design pattern. One of alimited quantity of 10 made by Tommy Singer.

The watch is labeled \"Japan Movt Stainless SteelBack\" It has a turquoise face witha gemstone at 12 o\'clock position.

Battery was recently replaced and it works.

Tommy Singer (born 1940 - May 31, 2014) was a NavajoSilversmith who specialized in chip-inlay jewelry. His inlaid turquoise, coral,and silver pieces incorporated traditional Navajo designs. Singer gainedacclaim as the originator of the chip inlay design which he developed in the1970s.

Singer was a member of the Navajo Nation from Winslow,Arizona. He perfected his craft workingon the Navajo reservation in a small studio surrounded with his family andother tribal members.

He grew up on the Navajo Reservation and was taughtsilversmithing by his father, beginning at the age of seven. In the 1960s heinvented the \"chip-inlay\" technique of using turquoise or coral chipsin this silverwork. This technique has become widespread in his community. Healso used stamps and work in overlay.

When asked about his work, Singer said, \"Every piece ismade with the various meanings from my traditional ways - the Navajo way ofliving. My father was a silversmith, too. He taught me, and wanted me tocontinue this trade. It was my father\'s dream that I learn to silversmith sothat I could continue his beliefs.\"
