Hi FolksHere for your offerding considerationis this obsolete vintage very rare pair / matching set of Maine State Police license plate\'s two digit # 17 made with aluminum and has raised embossed letters as seen. The plate\'s have a date of 1950 written in pencil on the back of each plate, so I will assume that this set is from 1950, the plates do have some light denting & scratches & creases, the plates are blue & black paint & have some color fading as seen in the photos. The paint on this set of plates seem to have a light sand paper / gritty feel to them,this set of plates may have been made with a special paint that was to glow on the highways back in the day as the first & 2nd photo\'s shows the dark colors on the plate\'s with the flash off,and the brighter colors of the plates in the photo\'s are with the flash on,and you can see where the light from the flash pops the glow from the paint out. I will let you experts decide condition of the plate\'s by viewing all photo\'s.I am not an expert on license plates nor police collectible items, collector nor maker therefore any restoration/repairs,or any repainting or any breakage / damage to the plate other wise stated to this lot in the description that may or not have been done, I am not aware of. Any cleaning, missing, needed or broken parts/pieces I am unaware of and will leave to you the buyer.
