Fineantique french violin made byJules Rémy circa 1850.

Fineand beautiful antique french violinmade circa 1850 byJules Rémyin Mirecourt. This violin that we recently found, is in a surprising mint condition, entirely preserved, very rare for these instruments. The top is made of one piece of spruce, and to the exception of minor nicks and wear in the bridge feet region, is in a beautiful condition. The back, made of one piece of breathtaking maple of strong flame, the curl ascending from the left to the right, is almost new, to the exception of a little crack at the left of the button, and little iron nails in the button. The varnish, of an exquisite orange colour on a golden ground, is in a perfect condition, and entirely original. The fingerboard is probably original, a little thin but perfectly playable. The shape of the instrument is very nice, with the f holes delicately carved, a beautiful deep edges and corners work.

The violin has been set up with heart-shaped ebony and bone pegs, ebony and bone tailpiece,an ebony chinrest, a new bridge and a Thomastik Dominant strings set. On the inside back of the instrument can been found the original triangular fire brand, \"Remy in Urbe Cremoniae\". The violin comes with its certificate, describing the instrument and including a 5000€ valuation.

The sound of the instrument is deep and warm, projective and resonating, with a lot of sensitivity, a fantastic french mid-19th century concert violin that you will cherish!
