Rare Old Japanese Deep Green Ginbari Enamel Cloisonne Vase w/ Many Butterflies:

Designed with three large butterflies, threesmaller and too many small ones to count. I kept losing track. All very colorful and really stand out against deep greenginbari enamel over foil. Morebrilliant in handand I added a couple pictures in natural light, but still does not do the coloring justice. Please see last two pictures.

Top rim into mouth and bottom mounts appear to bebrass or bronzewith very deep, nice aged patina.

A very early, uniquecolorful butterfly designed ginbarivase with high shouldered, round bulbous body.

Cabinet size at approximately 4\" tall by2 1/2\"wide.

Very good condition. Theseold ginbari vases are very susceptible to underglaze hairlines due to the techniques available during the period. There is an area on theshoulder where there are some presentcould be fromlight bumps to top rim from many years of normal wear. I had difficulty getting to appear in the photos, but might be seen with the zoom feature. There is no impact on the beautiful display of this old vase.

Very reasonable reserve for rare old vase of this quality.

This fine vase would be an excellent addition to your Japanese cloisonne collection.
