I am offering for sale a 3 pull telescope from the 1790 to 1810 era most likely used in the War of 1812. It is 100% original. The telescope is made by Spencer Browning & Rust of London. They were in business with this name from 1784 to 1840. If you Google search them, one very close to this one comes up as being in the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. The mahogany wood cover is in excellent condition with beautiful color and no chips or cracks. The lens has its eyepiece cover that is fully functional. It has its original brass lens cap. We have figured out how to focus it and it works fine. It measures 5 1/2\" long when closed and 15\" long when open. The diameter at the widest part is 1 3/8\" and the circumference of the same area is 4 3/8\".
