1898 ~ Original First Fine, original French Art Nouveau - Arts & Crafts poster advertising an exhibition of new works of Andre des Gachons at Salon des Cent in Paris.

Stone lithograph, linen-backed. Published, printed by \"Estampes - Imp. G Enard et Cie.\" Signed by the artist in the image, lower right.

Andhre des Gachons (1871-1951) was a French illustrator and painter. He is known for his subtle and exquisite use of watercolors. He was the only artist to earn two solo shows at this venue, Salon des Cent.

This fine image by Andhre des Gachons depicts lovers walking in the forest under the moonlight and it was executed in the French Renaissance Revival - Art Nouveau - Arts and Crafts style popular around the world during the late 19th and early 20th century, as it is today!

CONDITION:Overall good condition with the following noted: Linen-backed. Some normal overall yellowing. Horizontal fold line to center. Creases. Upper left corner clipped, small loss to left edge, center. Some light water stains and lifting off canvas at bottom and top left areas (see photos). Image in good condition. The red writing is on the edge of the linen backing not on the poster. Unframed.

This poster is rare and will display nicely when framed. It is the original 1898 first printing and would be well worth having restored to extra fine condition by a poster conservator. piece will be a museum quality addition to any collection of Poster Art and will display beautifully in any Mid Century Modern, Eames Era, Art Deco, Modernist, Art Nouveau, or Arts and Crafts decor.
