A rare and famous pair of British mezzotints: \"A Party Angling\" and \"The Anglers Repast.\" This pair of highly sought original mezzotints were published Nov. 28th, 1789. Both are after paintings by George Morland (1763 - 1804.) The Party Angling was engraved by George Keating (1762 - 1842.) The Anglers Repast was engraved by William Ward (1766 - 1826.) Both mezzotints measure approx. 18 x 22in. Both have approx. 1/2in margins and measure approx. 18 1/2 x 23 3/4in. overall. Both have been removed from early 1900\'s frames with the label of Walker\'s Galleries Ltd., 118 New Bond St., London W1. The frames were backed with wood. Fortunately there was paper board between the mezzotints and the wood. The prints are being sold as removed from the frames. They were not laid down and have not been cleaned. The mezzotints are good clear impressions. The paper is lightly age toned with stronger toning at the edges. There is some slight waviness to the paper. The lower part of the left margin and corner have old paper reinforcements on The Anglers Repast.
