Wedgwood Nizamilustre ware by Daisy Makeig-Jones.
Nizami1140-1203 was the name of the first dramatic poet of Persia. In 1928 a book the Nizamipoems was published and it is from here Daisy took her designs.
An extremely rare pair of small dishes from Daisy Makeig-Jones.
Green mottledlustre, a deep gold Armagh design around the rim
and beautifully hand painted centerpiece depicting a Persian gentleman cutting down a tree.
Printed Wedgwood with Portland Vase mark to baseand Numbered Z5494 to base
Size: 9. 5 cm diameter.
Condition is Superb, there are no chips, hairline cracks or repairs.
All marks are from light reflection.
