Rare 1846 Harpers Bros. The Illuminated Bible, Rev. James Laurie, Washington, DC:

This rare antique bible was owned by the Reverend James Andrew Laurie. In 1803Rev. Laurie was one of the founders and the first pastor of the F Street Associate Reform Presbyterian Church in Washington D.C. and later the pastor of the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church. Listed in the family section of Marriages, Births and Deaths is his daughter\'s, Elizabeth Mary and James Colegate family informationfrom 1842 to 1886. The first entryis of the marriage of Elizabeth Mary and James at the New York Ave, Church in 1842, officiated by Rev. Laurie himself. This old bible shows wear as shown but is complete, together and overall in good condition.Also included are three antique bookmarks and a hand written note of what appears to be a passage from the bible, found inside the bible.
