Rare Shelley SWEET PEA 11721 Queen Anne trio.C.1930.

Pattern No 11721 Sweet Pea: Black print. Blue sweet peas with black stems, tendrils, and green leaves on small panels. Tiny black dots above sweet peas. Stylised black leaves on panel joins. Yellow and black motif on large panel. White ground. Mauve edges. Entered in pattern book 1930.

The shape of this trio is the Queen Anne shape. This shape was first introduced in 1926.

The cup is in excellent clean condition with nochips,cracks, crazing, scratches or rubbing and \"pings\" well. The side plate is in good condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or rubbing. There is all over micro crazing which can be seen under closer scrutiny this results in a duller \"Ping\" There is also some discolouration located in the centre of the plate (see photo).The saucer is in very good clean condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or rubbing. There is all over micro crazing which can barely be seen even using an eye glasss but this results in a duller \"Ping\" There are no signs that this set has ever been used except for display purposes. There is no fading to the pattern and all paintwork is in very good order.

The backstamp is the 1925-1940 green cartouche.

Approximate measurements:base of cup 36mm (1.4 inches) /across top 73mm (2.9 inches) / height 71mm (2.75 inches)/ side plate 161mm (6.3 inches) / saucer 135mm (5.3 inches)
