A rare & exceptional early 19th C. miniature redware bowl decorated with an abundance of yellow slip, C. 1820-1850. This wonderful early redware piece was found recently in New Jersey, most likely New Jersey or Pennsylvania in origin. The size & design are quite unusual,this is the first miniature decorated bowl I have come across. This small bowl is heavily decorated with yellow slip on the sides & bottom of the inside. It is in excellent original condition, it has some very tiny glaze losses, most appear to have been done in the making. There are no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. This early decorated miniature bowl measures just 4 3/4\" in diameter at the top, 2 3/4\" in diameter at the bottom & stands just under 2\" tall. The miniature redware bowl is the only piece included in this sale, the last photo displays it next to a two gallon stoneware jar for comparison. In some of the photos, there appears to be white lines, this is the reflection of the light off the glaze.A wonderful piece of early American redware, offered with .
