Here on offer is astylish and rare vintage 1940s, Vogue Vanities red enamelled abstract design powdercompact.

Vogue Vanities began makingpowder compacts in the late 1940s and continued into the 1950s. They producedhigh quality compacts employing expert workmanship and excellent materials.

This wonderful compactfeatures a red enamelled abstract design to the lid with a gold tone background. There is no fading to the enamelled design, but there are some minor surface marks. The gold tonebase shows some minor surface marks, while the sides are in excellent condition.

The compact opens with apush button mechanism. Once opened it reveals the mirror which is free ofdamage. The base has a gold toned door engraved with the ‘VOGUE VANITIES’trademark. The button that opens the powder well cover is engraved ‘PRO PAT’.Both opening mechanisms and hinges are in good order. It retains theoriginalpowder puff, but thesifter ismissing.
