The railroad of the Tionesta Valley Railway Company, is a single-track, narrow-gauge, steam railroad, extending northwardly from Hallton to Vandergriffs, Pa., 61.056 miles, with a branch extending from Big Run Junction, and another from near Clarendon, into adjacent timberlands, in that State, 14.133 and 6.103 miles, respectively, making the total of first main track 81.292 miles. For about 11 miles northward from Hallton, and a mile at Sheffield, there is laid an extra rail to provide for the handling of standard-gauge equipment.
