A substantial goliath sized 8-day patent pocket watch. The watch in its original silveroid caseand with white enamel dial. THE DIAL: 95% mint, thewhite enamel dial withblack Roman numerals and in bright condition with no chips and a faint hairline of so. The dial withblue steel spadehands. Diameter is45 mm. The crystal is also in excellent condition and retained securely, with the odd small scratch to the surface.

THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with finely finishedgilt plated movementand aBosley regulator,and blue steel screws. A cut two armbimetallic balance, withhairspring and club tooth lever escapement and balance cock and balance of rare patent formThe movement of good quality and with15 jewels. The watch ticking away on my desk as I type this,and keepingexcellent time and just cleaned and overhauled by my watch-maker. The watch ismuch brighter and crisp than in these dark photos, which are limited by my camera and lighting equiment. The watch is in very good working order for its age. A very similar watch is shown on page 423 of Pocket Watches, 19th and 20th Century by Shenton.

THE CASE: 99% mint, the silveroid case measures52 mm. The front and rear coversare excellent, both are hinged and close nice and tightly. The case with rear cover and inner silveroid dust cuvette, clean and with a few tinyscratches to the centre of the rear cover.

This is a high quality case, a work of art in its own right in crisp condition and of jewel like quality.The pictures show minor reflections and various dark marks, these are an artefact from the lighting and are not present in the watch case. This is a very fine period goliath watch in simply stunning condition, which is a veryrare collectable item or a possible investment for the future or of course a fine gift for a birthday, anniversary, wedding AND CONDITIONS:
