RARE - WW2 British Steel Helmet – GPO Three-Hole Home Front London Blitz - 1939:

This is a rare, andoriginal British steel helmet used by Post Office staff. It is the civilianversion with three small holes in the rim on each side.
It retains 90% of itsoriginal pale blue inside and out – to the front it is marked “GPO” for GeneralPost Office.
The very early patternrubberised canvas liner with the earlier large crown pad is also in superbcondition.
It also retains itsoriginal early pattern spring loaded chin-strap – also in great condition.
The inside of the helmetshell is stamped but I can’t make out the lettering.
The liner is stamped “7 ” “BH & G” (Barrow Hepburn & Gale Ltd. London)and “1 1939”.
Overall it is in superb condition for its age

Very heavy at over1000 grams
