This extraordinary micromosaic is museum quality. It\'s an example of exceptional Italian work from the 1860\'s. The minuscule tiles are a combination of colored glass that create an image of the Goddess Flora and surrounding 18k gold tiles (only a few mosaicists worked with gold tiles, Castellani was one of them). The setting is solid 18k gold, grape leaves and vines adorn the edges (there are 2 hallmarks on the stem as well as on the loop holding it). The back has a small compartment for a lock of hair or other keepsakes. A rare treasure.
