Rare large silver plique-a-jour enamel Russian serving spoon.Stamped 88 (zolotnicks). The bowl with multi-coloured (deep purple, blues and yellows) plique-a-jour Double Headed Eagle with blue cloisonné dot-patternsurround to edge of bowl. The bowl is further finely detailed with plique-a-jour enamel in floral and foliage motifs. The handle similarly decorated with cloisonné enamel and geometric designs.A rare and beautiful spoon in very good condition, nicely gilded.A heavy spoon (185g). length 26cm (10.25”).The workmanship is amazing and truly beautiful when held up to the light.Silversmiths Mark also stamped. It’s so tiny but we think it says KOHOBAAEHKO.In our family for many years.
