These high-backed dining chairs were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright to create a sense of intimacy around a dining table, helping guests focus on each other and the meal they share.
These chairs differ from the originals in these ways:

The fabric on the chair seats are a Frank Lloyd Wright original design, but they are not the Robie House original design (which was plain). This fabric is beautiful and interesting in its own right, see detail in the pictures.
There are two \"captain\'s chairs,\" distinguished by a padded back using the same fabric. These can be placed at the ends of a longer table.
The captain\'s chairs do not have a \"foot serif\" on the back legs. (This was for me, because I like to lean back in chairs.)
The upholstery on these chairs is more comfortable than the original chairs.

They were hand built for us in 2000 by my brother-in-law, who was an architecture student at the time. We loved having dinner parties, and the chairs were a topic of conversation in those parties, of course, because they are stunning.
Robie House dining chairs are available new from the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust at $1880 each, However, the original Robie House chairs are less comfortable (due to less padding in the seat) and the fabric is not very interesting.
You are offerding a price for all 10 chairs as a set. My preference is to sell them together. If the collection does not sell, I will perhaps offer them as a set of 6 and a set of 4, but for now you must decide whether you want the full set of 10 or not. Of course, you could buy the full set and then sell the chairs you don\'t need, if you like.
