Sainte-Croix village was the renowned centre ofthe nascent music box industry.

It was this village - whose fame had travelled far and wider -that Charles Reuge discovered in1865, when he established his first musicalpocket-watch shop in Sainte-Croix.

A pioneer, he managed to incorporate a musical cylinder and aminiature comb into awatch movement. These watches were justa beginning.

The Reuge family\'s days of distinction were farfrom over.

In 1886, fired with the same enthusiasm than his father,Albert Reuge opened a music box workshop inSainte-Croix

He rapidly converted the family\'s workshop into a small factoryproducing music pieces.

At the forefront of the mechanical music industry, theReuge musical movement were included in the most unlikelyobjects such as powder compacts and cigarette lighters.

A dynasty dedicated to the mechanical music was born and wasguided by Guido Reuge for more than sixtyyears.

He was the driving force behind the business. Intuitive,innovative and pioneering, he built the present factory inSainte-Croix in 1930, acquired several competitor companies,bringing real added-value to Reuge.

Thanks to his vision, energy and artistry he resortedcredidibility to the vocation of music makers.

NOTE:They are all similar and can be placed in any order, but they are also labeled on each leg as well. One leg does screw past perfect 45 degree angle to tight. This can easily be remedied with shims.
The music box plays but sticks at the same spot if you move the key it starts again, may need to be cleaned.Please look at the pictures this is the item you will be getting.
