Here for your consideration, is amagnificent andextremelyrare, 1913, Royal Doulton, silver rimmed, flambé pig dish, style one, model number HN243,designed by Charles Noke, in conjunction with the top flambé ceramics, Royal Doulton consultant at the time, Bernard Moore. Please take time to look at all 12 photos to fully appreciate the quality and workmanship in this delightful dish !!

The silver rim is fully hallmarked GB & Sons in an oval cartouche for George Betjemann and Sons, leopards head for the London Assay office, and date stamped \'S\' for the year 1913. The silver is also stamped KB & Co again in an oval cartouche for Klippan Brothers Ltd, so obviously made with two top silversmiths working in conjunction with each other !!

This very rare pig dish isillustrated on the front cover of Jocelyn Lukins book Doulton Flambe Animals andCharlton\'s standard catalogue of Royal Doulton Animals, 4th edition, page 100.

It\'s inabsolutelyfantasticoriginal condition, manufactured byRoyal Doulton, England.The flambécolouring in this rare dish is superb, realstrongvibrantcolouring, absolutely exquisite. I really don\'t believe mypictures are doing thisdelightful, silver rimmed pig dish,true justice. The colours and the way they\'vebeen mixed are just magnificent.

George Betjemann & SonsSilversmiths ...

George betjemann was first registered as a silversmith in 1900. The company worked from premises in Pentonville Road, London, N1, specialising in ashtrays, boxes, cigarette cases, coin holders, decanter labels, inkwells, manicure sets, match strikers, and watch holders. In 1938 the company was purchased by Puddlefoot, Bowers and Simonett.

Kippan Brothers Ltd ...First registered as a London silversmith in 1899.
