Up for sale from Royal Doulton and Pichard China are Limited Edition Christmas Plates from 1980, 1982, and 1983, 8.5 inches Across. Of course, both Royal Doulton and Pichard are well-known names for beautiful china. These plates are no exception. Each one is bone china, completely unique with its own story. Royal Doulton, of course, is considered to be Bone China from the United Kingdom and Pichard China is an American company. All are rimmed in gold plating. All these plates tell a story.

The first plate from Royal Doulton is the 4th Edition in 1980 of Old St. Nick, known and loved around the world. Portrayed on the plate as Father Christmas in his traditional garb with a bundle of toys on his back. He has paused for a moment on a crisp moonlit Christmas eve. This is an enchanting scene of an old-fashioned Santa. The scene is wreathed in embossed bells and angels and decorated with holly sprigs.

The second plate from Royal Doulton is the 6th Edition in 1982 of a free-wheeling St. Nick on his old-fashioned bike holding a sprig of holly, a sack full of toys and a basket as well. It is lightly snowing, but he still has a job to do. The scene is complete with furry, brown rabbits watching his every movement. Like the plate above, the scene is wreathed in embossed bells and angels and decorated with holly sprigs.

The last plate is from Pichard China and is a First Edition in 1983. It is plate number 340 of 7500 made. This lower number gives it more value. This Collection is called, \"The Children of Christmas Past.\" It is hand painted and depicts sledding on Christmas Day. The theme is inspired by 19th century Christmas cards. These early cards were a graphic representation of Victorian life and customs as well as a celebration of the Christmas spirit. This particular plate captures old world charm with joyous children in an antique sled. The wreath of berries, fruit, and greenery are reminders of the rebirth of approaching Spring, are typical of the art of this period. It has a deeply sculptured border and it, too, is a gorgeous plate.
