Russian enamel Bronze icon: Archangel Michael&Holy Virgin.This is a modern icon ,exact copies of the icons from the 18th century.

This Orthodox icon depicts Saint Archstrateg of the Bodiless Powers Archangel Michael. When Lucifer claimed in his arrogance: "I am God", Archangel cried in wrath: "Who is God?" These words (Michael in Hebrew) became his name in the Christian tradition. The feast of the Council of Archstrateg Michael and other Bodiless Heavenly Powers is at 8 (21) November. Another feast is at 6 (19) September.

The image of the Mother of God which is known as the "Sign" dates to the fourth century. The icon took that name in Russia after the miraculous sign given by the Novgorod icon in the year 1170 when there had been a battle between Novgorod, that was medieval Russian republic and Suzdal Duke Andrew Godlover in 1170. Highly revered Novgorod icon helped her city with a miracle. Feast is at 27 November (10 December).
