Russian Lacquerware Brooches
Russian lacquer ware dates back to the early 1700’s. The technique involves hand painting in traditional styles on an extremely durable papier-mâché or wood base, and then applying multiple layers of lacquer. Over the centuries, Russian artists have perfected a variety of genres for which they’ve become world renown.
Floral Bouquets: Originating in the village of Zhostovo, the florals capture the tenderness of spring in vibrant colors. Exceptional depth is achieved by applying two pigments in the same brush stroke.
Fairy Tales: The icon painters of Palekh turned to folk and fairy tales in the early 20th century and continue to facinate the world with their magic of miniatures. Russian romance and fancy come alive in each beautiful piece.
Landscapes: Western Europe’s influence is felt in the land-scape masterpieces. The artists animate each season, finding the essence of Russia in every stream, wayside chapel or birch tree.
No doubt about it, the brooches are for pinning close to the heart.

Many of the items we will be offering were custom orders – to our design specifications. Each piece was individually handcrafted by Russian Artisans and are from 2000 and prior. Because of the nature of these items, no two pieces are exactly the same.
We are in the process of liquidating our remaining inventory, so if you are interested in larger quantities, please contact us.

Payment:
Payment is accepted in the form of paypal, credit card (Visa, Master Card and American Express) for our traditional sales and paypal only for our Buy It Now sales. Immediate payment is required on our Buy It Now sales. If paying by paypal, we can only ship to confirmed addresses. Payment is required within 7 days of sale’s end.
Shipping:
Buyer pays shipping cost stated in the sale. This quote is based on shipment to the continental United States. Please call for shipping charges to other destinations within the United States. We do not offer international shipping. We ship all sales within three business days of payment. We do combine shipping on multiple items. Taking the largest shipping fee of the items won, and adding the shipping charges for each additional item will calculate shipping fees.
Local Pick Up:
We offer local pick up Monday through Friday, 10am – 4pm. We ask that you call ahead so that we may have your item ready for you when you arrive. Please provide twenty-four hours advance notice.
Insurance:
All sales are shipped insurance to provide the customer the utmost security. This is provided at no additional cost.
response Policy:
We are happy to provide positive response for any customer satisfied with their transaction. It will be left automatically once positive response has been left of us.
Return Policy:
We accept returns on items within 7 days of payment. Replacements will be issued. If a refund is wanted we charge a 20%, minimum $10 restocking fee.
