This gorgeous lacquer box has been handpainted in Art Nouveau style.This style was inspired by Alphonse Mucha, a well known Czech painter and decorative artist.His work frequently featured beautiful women in flowery neoclassic looking robes, often surrounded by lush flowers, which sometimes formed halos behind the women heads.“Amethyst” is one of the best examples of Mucha’s vision of beauty. Russian artist painted reproduction of \"LA PRIMAVERA” on the box. The shimmer ofthe gold leaf and attractive handpainted picture make this lacquer box unique and desirable. The box is hand made of papier-mâché, several layers of clear lacquer protect the painting. Signed by the artist and made in the village of Fedoskino.
