Russian or Slavonic Orthodox book Psalter /Псалтирь/ from 17-18th century - in good condition I\'m selling a Russian or Slavonic Orthodox Psalter /Псалтирь/ from 17-18th century. The Psalter is in good condition, but lacks first page and probably last few pages. The paper on which is printed the Psalter is solid and typical of the 17-18 century and has vertical stripes in 25 and 30 mm. The book is with leather hard cover decorated with religious symbols. Leather cover and its decoration is typical of Russian and Slavic religious books of the 17th century. It is more rustic and without much detail and ornamentation. This Russian or Slavonic book guess is printed in a printing house in Western Europe. Its signature and in Latin characters /it shows the tenth picture/ and lithography King David is of excellent quality. The Psalter was printed with a black font, format 165x110x40mm/ 6.5x4.3x1.6 inches and weighs 415 grams. Psalter has 21 untagged pages at the beginning and 36 untagged pages at the end and general book has 371 pages. This old book bears the traces of time, but it is beautifully printed and can be part of your collection. This book is gone first page from which to see when and where it is printed. I think this Psalter is printed in the late 17th or early 18th century. This my assumption is based on the leather cover decorated with archaic religious symbols and thick paper characteristic of this periods of time. In the pages of the book has a very short notes, I found written in 1685 and 1782 - that is seen on the last two pictures. All this gives me reason to think that this Psalter from the late 17th or early 18th century, but it may be wrong. Therefore, the sale house has the option every buyer alone offer price that is willing to pay for the book. Good preserved Psalter with high artistic and religious value suitable for true connoisseurs and antiquarians - get what you see in the pictures!
