FABULOUSLY FANCY, this sweet pair is an EXCEPTIONALEXAMPLE of wonderful CABINET SIZE dolls made for the FRENCH MARKET and they will steal your heart with their overall ENCHANTING PRESENTATION!
Made in GERMANY in the early 1900\'s in order to compete with the French Market, one doll has dark brown and the other light blonde original MOHAIR WIGS, and both have blue glass SLEEP EYES and wonderful facialmodeling including individually painted upper and lower lashes, and sweet open mouths with originaltiny white PORCELAIN TEETH!
Both dolls are wearing exquisite matching factoryoriginal ELABORATE ENSEMBLES consistingof wonderful French blue cotton frock worn by the blonde haired doll, and an apple red cotton dress worn by the brunette doll, with both dresses retaining original white gauze lining, and embellished with LAVISH LACE and gold metallic thread. Both outfits have matching bonnets and original cotton stockings; the doll in blue has no shoes and the one in red has one remaining fancy oilcloth shoe!
Their original PAPERMACHEbodies have their original finish and are jointed at the upper arms which have been recently re-strung and have jointed upper legs, allin EXCELLENT CONDITION! The sleep eyes on both dolls have also been recently reset, and their bisque heads are incised on the back\"DEP\", \"R 10/0 A\", and we note no apparent chips, cracks,hairlines or restorations!
Because we thought this sweet little pair have the look of being displayed as holiday dolls, we are showing them next to a miniature decorated feather tree which is not included in this offering but used to show that Christmas can be EVERY DAY with these fabulous fancy little dolls!
