Charming Scottish Borders Landscape

19th Century Oil Painting

Sam Bough 1822-1878 Interest

A beautifully coloured work, the painting appearing unsigned though having a Newcastle upon Tyne canvas suppliers stamp verso. There is also a later collectors label for a gentleman in Aberdeen, the work most probably being a view in Westmorland, Cumberland or along the Scottish Borders. It is beautifully painted and very much influenced by Sam Bough 1822-1878.

Age- Later 19th Century

Size- 25.25 by 29.5 inches approx (640 x 750 mm) including frame, canvas 20 by 24 inches approx.

Medium- Oils on canvas.

Condition- Some craqueleur and dirty varnish visible, the odd indent and fleck of missing paint in places.

Frame- Old wooden gold coloured frame offered free with the painting.

Signature- Unsigned.
