EXTREMELY SCARCE FRENCH CHINA CAMPAIGN 1900-1901 MEDAL MEDAILLE CAMPAIGN DE CHINE 1900-1901This extremely rare original French medal was instituted on the 15th of April 1902 as military award to the French military who participated in the bloody suppression of the China Boxer Rebellion as part of the “eight nation alliance” The medal is made from 92.5% Silver and has the engravers signature \" Georges Lemaire \" located at five o\' clock. This medal has the usual Monnaie of Paris cornucopia mint marks and the Silver stamp \" ARGENT \" and is also correctly hallmarked on back of the 1900 Chine 1901 Bar. This medal measures 30mm. in diameter and shows the head of la Republique in tropical helmet. The reverse depicts crossed cannons, anchor and Flag, all in front of a Chinese pagonda, with the surrounding inscription \" CHINE 1900-1901 \". The ornate suspension is modeled on two Chinese dragons.
