Title page dated 1904 and reverse title page copyright page dated 1904. With red buff paper covered boards 85 pages, with some blank pages sporadically throughout as called for. The frontispiece is missing along with the ffep (replaced) and possibly a half title page, but all illustrations are present and in correct order (as per Linder). One of the most illusive 1st Edition copies despite the print run. This is a difficult copy to obtain.

Condition
Original red buff paper boards present with original pasted vignette to the centre board, the spine has been neatly replaced in matching colour spine strip, very neat and sympathetically done. The red boards have some marks and discolouration showing, with some staining and mild marks, light edge rubbing and mild storage wear. The text has been well preserved with some light discolouration to the white areas. The central pasted vignette is lightly discoloured as is normally seen. Generally a reasonably well preserved set of boards solid and secure and holding well.

Internally, the front free free end paper is missing as is the frontis piece and possibly a half title if it had one.There has been a neat blank front free end paper inserted along with a neat blank fly leaf front and back. There has been some light restoration to the rear end paper gutter. All restorations very neat and sympathetic. The binding feels tight and the pages are holding well. The pages are reasonably clean throughout with some minimal marks and wear in places, some light scuffs and minimal historic creases effecting a couple of pages. Generally a nice little book neatly restored that is solid and presentable.
