SET 2 VINTAGE AFRICAN EBONY WOOD CARVING STAFF SPEAR WEAPON CROCODILE BONE INLAY:

Up for sale is a great set of 2 antique African ebony wood carvings from an estate. I do not know what they may have been used for, probably ceremonial. Both are very solid and heavy and have some deep, beautifulcarvings. The spear with the crocodile and fish is inlaid with 3/16\" bone buttons on the spear and for the crocodiles eyes. They are made of bone but judging from the parallel grooves, they could be something else. This staff measures 3 feet long and weighs close to 2 pounds. It is in excellent condition but for a hairline crack on one end of the circular handle (see photo). The staff with the lady and the small crocodile measures 29 inches and weighs close to a pound and a half. Also in excellent condition but I believe part of her left nostril has broken off. The inside of the wood is also very dark. Both very solid.

I am not an expert is these items andtherefore not entirely sure of the composition, age, or nature of these carvings. Please let the photos be your judge. I would also greatly appreciate any informative response.
