RareStraight Set of 6-George William Adams-159 grams

Offeredin this sale is a uniform Set of 6London Fiddle Pattern Teaspoons made byGeorge William Adams and hallmarked for London in 1877. Thespoons exhibit the simple, unembellished style of the period, decorated withonly a period engraved monogram.

A good,desirable and quite usable set, getting harder to find with uniform marks.

SIZE & CONDITION: The spoons measureapproximately 14.7 cm (5 3/8”) long and weigh 159.4 g (5.62 oz) together.

Overallthey remain in very good condition for their age, with little tip wear a brightfinish and minor tarnish. They feature a wonderful period engraved Old Englishmonogram “M” (see photos as these can betricky).

MARKS: The spoons are hallmarked on the reverse as follows:

Makers Mark – “GA” in conjoinedcircles for George William Adams

Lion Passant – Sterling Standard

City Mark – Uncrowned Leopard’s Head for London

Date Letter- “B” for 1877

Duty Mark- Bust of Victoria

Journeyman’s Marks- “K” and “C”
