This is a SPODE Porcelain White Kitty Cat Christmas Ornament from Spode’s Christmas Tree pattern Classic (Since 1938) collection or series.

A playful White Cat is laid down on top of opened box and a string of colorful Christmas tree lights ended up adorning him.

Note: the lights are not actual Lights that will light up, but part of the ornament’s design features.

The box’s lid is trimmed in Green, has the Spode’s Christmas Tree pattern, and then Holly and Berries accents placed around the box.

On bottom of figurine reads: Spode in Red, and Handcrafted in China in Gold

Measures: 3\" tall x 3 1/2\" long

Doesn’t say what edition/year this one belongs to, but I can say for sure that purchased retail in 2007.

History:

“In 1938, Harold Holdaway, a young designer in Spode\'s England office, was asked to design a Christmas pattern for the American market. He was faced with a dilemma...he had never seen a decorated Christmas tree! In his first sketch the presents were suspended from the branches. \"Wouldn\'t that cause them to droop?\" he wondered. He amended his sketches when told the American tradition was to place gifts under the tree. Holdaway used another Christmas icon in a most delightful way, adorning the top of the tree with jolly St. Nick.”
