Atop quality heavy sterling silver ashtray. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1935with the maker’s marks being those of Mappin and Webb. Interestingly it hasbeen made as a commemorative piece to mark the silver jubilee of King George Vand Queen Mary, hence it has the optional King and Queens head hallmark and hasbeen decorated with their initials and dates. It has an angular Art Deco design.It is in perfect condition being free from dings splits and repairs. Itmeasures a touch over 2.75 inches (7.2cms) square and weighs 31 grams. A highquality unusual example sure to appeal to both ashtray collectors and thosewith an interest in royal memorabilia.
