A beautiful sterling silvergilt and guilloche enamel compact and lipstick set. The lipstick is hallmarked STERLINGalong with the makers marks of Theodore W Foster and Bro of Rhode Island USAoperating 1898-1957, I cannot find the mark of the compact but it is sterlingmost likely hallmarked under the mirror. They have been beautifully designedbeing guilloche enamelled. They are contained within a little bag with a pocketfor notes and a small pouch for coins. All pieces are in super condition beingfree from dings splits and repairs. The mirror is in very good condition havingno cracks or chips as is the enamel. The compact measures a touch under 2.25inches (5.5cms) across the lipstick 2 inches long. A beautifully made very highquality more unusual set.
