A truly stunning vintage early 1940s French chapeau from ROSE VALOIS of Paris. Dates to circa 1939 to 1941 and is in excellent condition. Piled thick and high with beautiful swirling ostrich plumes! Perfect for the Fall and autumn events, with rich colors in the plumes of golds, orange, yellows and browns, etc. The hat is made of a lovely faux horsehair millinery braid in dark black, very supple and light. On each side of the strap are fabulous HH ruffles that add a feminine touch. The back strap of HH which is wired and has a bit of \"spring\" so it hugs to the wearer\'s head nicely. In front is a frothy full face veil of fine French silk veiling (real silk) in dark black. Magnifique! Label is hand sewn in black and gold silk and reads Rose Valois 8 Rue Royale Paris. This hat is meant to be worn at a severe forward for added allure. TILT Sure to be a favorite in any collection, and a true investment piece. The hat is in very good, clean condition.
