This is a quite stunning gothic wooden oak carving of the head of the green man with the acorns & leaves of which:

During our research we have been informed itcertainlydates from the 19th century.

Dates about c1880s.

Of a black forest origin.

A gothic wooden oak large relief carving with:

centrally: the stunning relief carving of the head of the green man.

Carvings surrounding of acorns & oak leaves.

Scrolls to the sides.

Flat backed.

The carving has an overall sizeof about 18 x 11.5inches.

Max depth of about 4.25inches.

Condition: Considering the age, the overall conditionis excellent andisnot subject to:

any major blemishes.

Two holes to either side of the head where it was once mounted onto a wall.

A minor chip to the rear at the top of the scroll.

Areas of minor rubbing.All as per pictures.

Besides being a very collectable, very heavy, gothic, black forest wooden oak carving, dating from the 19th century, with the relief carving of the head of the green man, acorns, oak leaves, scrolls & other, c1880s,would also look fabulous displayed.
