STUNNING ORNATE ANTIQUE OIL LAMP BASEWITH
IMPRESSIVE LONGWY FRENCH ENAMEL POTTERY STEMLAMP PARTS CAN BE REWORKED AS A BEAUTIFUL ELECTRIC LAMP OR ANELEGANT CHANDELIER!This gorgeous oil lamp base is marked by the manufacturer ~ the National Brass & Iron Works Company of Reading, PA. Established in 1891, the company was later purchased by the Consolidated Hardware Company in 1904. The oil lamp\'s ornate base is marked with the letters, \"NB & I WKS\" and underneath the number, \"1009\". The upper portion of the lamp is marked, \"NB & I WKS\" and also, \"No 12\". The beautiful pottery stem is not marked, however, comparing its enamel work via large format photos, both the inner and outer surface of the stem matches the Longwy stems of other lamps and chandeliers being sold as such. Due to the fact that the majority of our inventory is electrical fixtures, I cannot offer any details on this item other than our observations and impressions. Our listing includes the four pieces seen in our posted photo. The base of the lamp is cast iron (magnetic) and the remaining metal pieces appear to be brass. Each piece fits very snug with its mate. We did note that the top portion of the lamp (that looks like a bowl) may have a small chip in the metal portion that protrudes. We have taken a close up of this area. Approximate measurements of the lamp are 18 inches high and 9.5 inches wide.
