For those of you that do not have much knowledge about these kinds of servers,
well, they are small refrigerators!You see, the base bowl (below the inner plate) stores/holds chipped ice (beneath the inner plate)
so that when cheese or butter is placed atop the inner plate (with the ice chips beneath),
keeps the food product refrigerated for a couple of hours!
Gorgeously embossed/raised \"Art Deco\" designs all around this exquisite antique service piece!!
The top part of the handle has beautiful filigreed designs and notched grippers that the domed lid finial rests upon.
The extended utensil holder prongs to the base stand accommodates a knife (as the one shown is included),
fork or spoon! The domed lid cover displays lovely etched \"Deco\" motifs all around (see photos).
There is the original removable inner plate that rests onto the inner base bowl (atop the ice chip chamber), and a

No Plate Loss to the Exterior Surface!No Obvious Dings or Dents!
There are signs of deep scratches to the inner base of the bowl (the ice chamber), though no plate loss.
The removable inner plate shows no plate loss, and only exhibits light scratches & scuffs.
The butter knife is very old, and exhibits light wear, light scratches & scuffs, though considered to be in good condition.Mild light scuffs & scratches all around the server due to use and age.
