Description A really stunning English antique solid sterling silver cigarette or jewellery box by the silversmiths A E Poston & Co Ltd, in lovely condition and with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1933. Excellent quality example, could have originally been a jewellery box or a cigarette box, has a hinged silver lid and is all-over decorated with attractive engine-turned engraving. Rests on 4 beautiful cast solid silver bracket feet. Has a fully wood-lined interior there are no added engraved personal inscriptions or monograms. Weighs approx 250 grams, including wood lining.

Measurements Measures approx 4.75 inches (120mm) (including feet), x 4.2 inches (107mm) and stands 2.2 inches (56mm) in height.Date English antique solid sterling silver with a full set of silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1933 (date letter \"J\"). Excellent clear matching hallmarks on the box and the lid too. Maker Silversmiths initials \"A E P & Co Ltd\", (A E Poston & Co Ltd).Condition Lovely condition and ready to be used. No splits or cracks to the silver, no solder repairs and no nasty knocks or dents either, just 1 tiny little corner dent on the lid, but really nothing much at all and a beautiful silver box. The hinged lid works perfectly and opens and closes fine and the interior wood lining is original and in excellent condition with no splits or cracks and no water staining or missing wood. The 4 cast solid silver feet are undamaged. No added presentation inscriptions or monograms in the cartouche.Beautiful quality antique English sterling silver jewellery/cigarette box.
