These sconces are simply stunning. This item is as fragile as it can be. I will package them with utmostcare. They will ship in 2 SEPARATE boxes for protection and due to size. PLEASE NOTE, shipping charge is high and TWICE of what would be for one box only. I hope you don\'t mind that, because I want them to arrive save and sound for you. OK, back to the item....I am not sure who is the maker and how old the sconces are. They have a tag saying Made in Italy (pictured). Please help if you know more about them. They are large. Each one is approx. 20\" long (from top to last prism), 15\" wide and 11\" deep (from wall). I picked them up from an old house in Greenwich, CT. and unfortunately, the executor of the estate didn\'t know their history.
They are quite heavy as well. The arms, in a shape of the scrolls, are metal. They actually are embeddedinto the wooden blocks. In my opinion, not such a great combination due to weight, but after all these years...they are still holding on (I see few crack lines in those wooden pieces, but I guess it was a natural occurrence, so I am not worried about it). They still present beautifully...simply stunning pieces....
These sconces are accepting actually candles. They were not designed for electricity, wiring etc. The sconces show their age and being displayed and used in the past. One of the candle wax tray, shows repair after breaking. If you don\'t know is there...you won\'t even notice.
I am not sure if all the prisms or beads are present. After few minutes of looking at the sconces, analyzingthe complexity of a design, I was getting blurry vision. It appears as maybe just a very few are not there, but in reality....it is so hard to tell. I don\'t think you will be able to figure it out. So..see whatyou can find out from the images I provided. There are plenty to view. Images are part of adescription. You will get what you see here.I guess this is all the description. I hope i gave you enough info and I hope I didn\'t miss anything.I am just a human, so....please ask questions before offerding.
