STUNNING Los Castillo Taxco Mexico Abalone Figural Fish Handle Hammered SP Tray STUNNING Los Castillo Taxco Mexico Abalone Figural Fish Handle Hammered SP Tray Description Up for offer is this stunning vintage hammered tray by Los Castillo, Taxco, Mexico - the handles are figural abalone fish and the tray is believed to be silver plate. It measures 21 3/8 by 8.75 inches. Overall in fabulous condition with no missing abalone scales - very rare. The silver plate is in great condition with minor signs of use - a small raised spot on the front edge - maybe a drop of solder and a small dark spot next to it? One the back side of the tray at the same spot appears to be a small wear spot. One spot with some scratches - see photos - these are deeper than the fine scratches from wear. One of the eyeballs has a chip - you could from one on the back side to replace it if desired. The rim seems like someone polished it with something slightly scratchy but it is not bad and can be polished up I believe. See all photos.
