Description A wonderfulraredecorative English/Dutchantique 19th Centurysolid silvertable pot pourribox in the form of a writing bureau,in excellent conditionand with full Englishsilver hallmarks for Sheffield 1898. Superbquality genuine 119 year oldsilverexample, beautiful scarce item, with a drop-down hinged pierced and fretted front lid and all-over decorated with embossed figural/landscape scenes. It rests on 4 ornate silver legs and it has barley-twist cross stretchers. It even has interior silver shelving/pidgeon holes and a working silver twist door lock. Niceheavy weight, approx 84 gramsand there are no added personal engraved monograms or initials.

MeasurementsMeasures approx. 2.4inches (61mm) x 1.75 inches (44mm) andis 2.4inches (61mm) in height,(including lid finial).

DateEnglish antique 19th century Victorian solid sterling silver,with a full set of English silver hallmarks for Sheffield1898, (date letter \"f\").Superb clear struck marks and includes the extra letter \"F\" silver import stamp. There are also full Dutch \"930\" silver hallmarks and include the \"centurion\" stamp and the \"lion looking to the right, first grade\" and the date letter \"O\" for the year 1898. There is also a \"key\" silver export hallmark stamp.Hallmarked in numerous places.100% guaranteed antique 19th century solid silver.

Maker Silversmiths initials \"S.B.L\", (Samuel Boyce Landeck - 1893-1901).

ConditionExcellentcondition, no splits or cracks, no solder repairs, definitely no wear holesand no nasty knocks or dents either, a really stunning example. The pierced silver lid hinge works perfectly and opens and closes fine, and the 4 ornate silver legs and cross stretchers are undamaged. Superb novelty \"bureau\" design and beautifully all-over decorated. There are no added personal engraved monograms or initials. A rare item.
